AILEEN JEANNETTE OLSEN (nee TODD) June 4, 1932 - February 22, 2006 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our dear mother Aileen, who, surrounded by her family, went home to her Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Remaining to forever cherish in Aileen's memory are her daughters, Sandra Kaus, Aileen Freeman (Ken) and April Schreiner (Robert); son Ken Olsen (Irene) and special loved one Laura; brother Gordon Todd; grandchildren, Gayleen, Melanie, Angela, Jennifer (Sean), Tracey, Cameron, Kenny, Ryan, Jared, Michael and Brian; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Grace Todd and granddaughter Susan. Our mother was born and raised in Winnipeg and was a devoted Christian who in her early years taught Sunday School at Norwood Presbyterian Church and spent her summers as the camp nurse for the church where she was fondly known as Nursipooh . Mom chose a nursing career and went on to care for the physically ill at the Grey Nun's Infirmary and Deer Lodge Hospital but devoted most of her career to caring for the residents at St. Amant Centre where she retired in 1993. Despite the fact that in the last five years our mother struggled greatly with her health, her spirit was strong. She loved life, remained positive and was always able to light up a room with her loving warm smile. Aileen's funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27 at 10:30 a.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave., (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue) with viewing prior to service. For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. Our family would like to thank the staff of 5B at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Special thanks to nurses Mindy, Michelle and personal care staff, Deb, who provided excellent care to our mother during her final days and to Rev. Carlyle and Fr. Roland of Pastoral Care for your unwavering support to our family during this painful time. Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, help me stand I am tired, I am weak, I am worn Through the storm through the night Lead me on to the Light. Aileen's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897- 4665

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • It's been 11 years since you have been gone. I think about you every day. I know by now you have been reunited with Auntie Sam, Sean and now Cam. Momzipooh, please hold them all tight for me and kiss and hug them and then have them do the very same to you. Life is not the same without you and I miss your smile and guidance and undying love. I love you always my sweet Momzipooh. - Posted by: Jenny (Granddaughter ) on: Jul 24, 2017

  • Sunday morning... thinking of Momsipoo! When I see Momsipoo in my mind I remember the blonde ponytail bouncing as she walked. As I sit here in tears and saddness, I think of the ponytail bouncing and yet again Momsipoo had made me smile! Rest in Peace Momsipoo knowing you were loved by so many!
