NETTIE SULAVELLA It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved sister and aunt, Nettie Sulavella on February 23, 2006. Nettie was predeceased by her brothers, Alec and Joe; sisters, Mary and Kay; and her nephew Bruce. She is survived by brother Nick and sister-in-law, Eveline, sister Olga and sister-in-law Mary. Also left to cherish her memory are, niece Donna Elvers (husband Gordon and son Thomas), nephew Terry Sulavella (wife Jennifer, son Travis and daughter Madison), niece Diane Quane of Ottawa (son Ian and daughters, Adrienne and Jocelyn). Nettie was born August 15, 1916 in Winnipeg. She spent most of her life in Winnipeg, but was employed in Toronto in the late 1940s. In her 50s, Nettie caught the travelling bug and made many trips to different parts of Europe, North America and Hawaii, making many new friends along the way. Nettie enjoyed oil painting, knitting for others and spending time with her family. Family gatherings were especially important to her. She loved spending time with her nephews and nieces, and had a soft spot for their animal friends. More recently, Nettie enjoyed being a resident at the Rosewood Village seniors residence and made many new friends during her stay there. Her bright smile will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Nettie's memory be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB.
