DOROTHY HALLER (ENNS)
Date of Passing: Feb 24, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY HALLER (nee ENNS) Peacefully on February 24, 2006, attended by her husband and son, Dorothy Haller (nee Enns) at the Victoria General Hospital, after a year long battle with cancer, passed away. Raised by her grandparents, who in her heart became her parents and the aunts and uncles who became siblings. Still living is Nellie Hiebert of Winnipeg and Robert (Bud) Enns of Arizona. From her biological family, which Dorothy had only begun to know, surviving are, her brothers, Roy, Ed; sisters, Shirley, Joan, Jean and Ines and, gone too soon, June. Dorothy is sincerely missed by the above members and her many nieces and nephews. Born on March 18, 1932, Sexsmith, AB, Dorothy was raised in Altona, MB. She had become proficient in many skills, such as, cooking, knitting and crochet; but born with a natural compassion and a listening ear that was cherished by her many friends and acquaintances not least of all by her husband of over 40 years Jack. Strong in her own religious belief, she continued to belong to a bible group and a church member along side her good friend, Dolores. An avid reader of her bible, which she had many, she also was an enthusiastic reader and keen researcher of new authors. Once a fearful novice, she became an adept fan of the Internet's many search engines. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Victoria General Hospital, especially Dr. Maxwell, Bonnie, Astrid and Megan of the Oncology Department and Dr. Horton, Genevieve, Wendy and the many other supportive staff that helped us during the last few months. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway No. 1 East at Navin Road. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Victoria General Hospital Oncology Department, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8 or to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
