RALPH CHWARTACKI August 14, 1935 - February 23, 2006 Suddenly on February 23, 2006 at his residence, Ralph Chwartacki, aged 70 years, of Selkirk, MB, beloved partner of Barbara, went to his much needed place of rest. He joins his deceased brothers, Joe and Bill; sister Mabel (Walter); sister-in-law Jean; mother and father, Rose and Anthony and mother-in-law Alice McKellar. He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Todd (Bonnie) and their children, Rielle and Tanner; Keith (Helen) and their children, Chris, Kalie and Sarah; and Jason (Alanna), as well, he leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Melvin, Joyce, Tony (Vi), Jason (Joan), Roseanne (Jim); sisters-in-law, Adele, Felicia, Beverley (Gary) Zaitsoff. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved very much. There were few community sports and service groups that Ralph did not participate, from President of the Steelers, to baseball, Kiwanis, Rotary, ARC Ind., and the Selkirk Golf Club. However, his most enjoyable times were spent with children. His love and pride for his three sons was immeasurable. There was no limit to his patience and understanding for children. If he wasn't coaching baseball etc., or showing Tanner how to golf in the back lane, he was guiding them all in the construction of birdhouses. Grandchildren could do no wrong. You'll be sadly missed but part of you lives in all of us. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with pastor Stan Richards officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare would be much appreciated. Rome wasn't built in a day, don't worry, it will get done! Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
