ROSE ASHTON (nee OHIRKO) January 10, 1916 February 24, 2006 On February 24, 2006, after a lengthy illness, Rose Ashton passed away at the age of 90. Rose is survived by her husband James of 64 years. Rose will be sadly missed by her daughters, Donna (Gary) and Joan (Ken) and grandchildren, Tannis, (Kevin) and Jason. She is survived by sister Katherine and brother Stanley. Rose was predeceased by her parents John and Katherine Ohirko, sisters Nellie, Helen, and Florence, and brother William. Rose was a generous and loving person. She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, and especially loved her family dinners. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Riverview 4E, you are beautiful people; you know who you are, thank you. A warm thank you as well to St. B Palliative Care for all your care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. A private family interment will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery.
