Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERTRAM WALKER After a courageous battle with cancer, God called our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend, home. Surrounded by family Bert went to rest on Thursday, February 23, 2006. Bert was born in Scanterbury on October 30, 1928 and spent all his life in Manitoba, residing in Selkirk for the last 30 years. His greatest pleasure was spending time on Lake Winnipeg where he worked as a commercial fisherman. Next to being with his family this was where he enjoyed himself most. Bert loved his wife Gertrude, of over 50 years and held a place in his heart for his special daughter Angela. Bert was predeceased by his son Edward Moses O'Meara; grandson Edgar Stevenson Jr.; sister Virginia Trout; brothers, Daniel Walker and Ernest Arbour. Bert will be lovingly remembered and missed by all his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sisters, William (Stella) Walker, Olga Thomas (Morley), Joanne (Doug) Stevenson, Freda (Barry) Bear, Maxine (Edgar) Stevenson, Ernest (Marie) Walker, Debbie (John) Burka, Charmaine (James) McIvor, Rosa Walker (Ken), Dennis (Maureen) Walker, Darryl (Jeanine) Walker, Angela Walker, daughter-in-law Mary Ann O'Meara and 42 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Elizabeth Sinclair, Violet Buckler and Doris Stevenson. Bert will also be remembered by his many friends and extended family. Prayers will be said on Monday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Rec. Centre with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery (Old Stone Church). In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Amant Centre Inc, 440 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 329 Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

To Rosa and all of the family; While I did not know Mr. Walker I heard so many wonderful things about him from Rosa.
