ANNIE ZAPORZAN Peacefully, on Sunday, February 26, 2006, after a short period of declining health, our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Annie Zaporzan passed away at the St. Joseph's Residence, at the age of 97 years. Annie was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) in 1966; son Maurice in infancy; grandson Frank Dolinski; parents John and Anastasia Ewonchuk; sisters, Teenie (Maxim) Ambrosichuk, Mary (Wasyl) Chubaty, Irene (John) Salamandyk, Lena Yasinsky, Katherine (Mike) Klem, Mary Rohulych; brothers, Bill (Ann), Mike (Mary and Ann), Metro, two brothers in infancy, Our Mother is survived by her children, Alovey (Walter) Dolinski, Robert (Leonne), Nancy (Harvey) Lysack, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law Alex Yasinsky and John Rohulych; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Our Mother was born in Stuartburn on October 14, 1908 and with her parents and siblings moved to Rosa several years later. There she attended Avon School and later worked as a housekeeper until she married William. Together for the next 35 years they farmed and raised their family in the district. In 1972 she moved to Winnipeg but maintained her ties with her hometown of Rosa by continuing her memberships in the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League, Shevchenko Centre and Holy Eucharist Church. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 7:30p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 1, 10:30a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rosa, Manitoba with Rev. Fr. Gregory Zubacz officiating. Interment in the Churchyard Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Flowers are respectfully declined, in lieu, donations in Annie's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Residence, 1149 Leila Ave. Wpg. R2P 1S6 or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Residence, Fred Douglas Lodge and Tuxedo Villa for their exceptional care, kindness, compassion shown to Annie during her care there.
