BARBARA MACONNELL One year following the diagnosis of sinus cancer, Barbara Maconnell passed away with her family and close friends by her side. Barbara was predeceased by her parents William and Florence Gray; her husband of 48 years Richard and son David. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Joan; son Gord (Kathy); grandchildren Kristen, Leanne and Murray; extended family Jeff, Andrew, Jenn, Luke and Warren; her brother Jim; numerous nieces, nephews and her many, many friends Barbara was born and raised in Winnipeg and was married in 1948. Along with raising a family, Barbara was involved in so many organizations, groups and clubs. She was always the one you could depend on to manage a project, write a poem, a song or a skit, sew a costume, or bridesmaids dresses, help with homework or driving her grandchildren anywhere they needed to be. Since 1992 Barbara has been very much a part of WPUC, from being a devoted member of the choir, Mom's and Tot's, messengers, bible study group, UCW, as well as being a key coordinator of the Refugee Committee. In spite of all her involvement in family, church and community activities, she still found time to travel extensively and enjoy the family cottage at Whytewold. Barbara was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a strong and compassionate woman who truly embraced life and all it had to offer. Special thanks to Darryl Dyck and the Palliative Care staff unit 3E of the Riverview Health Centre. Interment will be held Thursday, March 2, 2006 at St. Vital Cemetery at 3:00pm. A celebration of her life will follow at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive at 4:00pm. Her love will live on in our hearts forever.
