CLARENCE SHERWOOD (1911 - 2006) With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Clarence, aged 94, beloved husband of Susan Sherwood, on February 27, 2006 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by Francis Sherwood (1952), Mable Sherwood (1965), Maurice Sherwood, 1979. Clarence was born in Hautrey, Ontario and remained on the family farm until he enlisted with the Air Force in 1940. While stationed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Clarence and Susan Penner married on September 12, 1941. When his tour of duty with the Air Force was completed, he returned with his bride to Ontario. Together they resumed farming for a number of years. During the early years of their marriage, Clarence and Susan attended Bible College in Peterborough, Ontario. This provided them both with a firm foundation in their knowledge of God's Word and Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Today this provides the spiritual heritage that Clarence leaves his children and extended family, of which they are very grateful. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 64 years, his daughter Wilma Barrett, (Frank Barrett), daughter Shirley Toews (John Toews), son Donald Sherwood, six grandchildren, Yale, Dawn, Penny, Rachael, Leslie, David, 10 great-grandchildren, Chad, Annica, Erin, Avery, Nathaniel, Justin, Amanda, Trinity, Mercy, Serenity, and one cousin Kenneth Shellington of Hanover Ontario and countless friends and associates. Clarence was a resident of Deer Lodge Centre since June 3, 2004. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Dr. Griggs and the staff of South Two for their kind and compassionate care during our Father's stay with them. A celebration of Clarence's life will be held at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main St., on Friday, March 3, 12 o'clock with Pastor B. Logan officiating. Family and friends are invited to stay for lunch following the service. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service.
