Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK RUDOLPH KENDALL Peacefully of natural causes, we sadly announce the death of Jack Kendall. Born September 15, 1915, he passed away on Monday, February 6, 2006 in Winnipeg, at the age of 90. The love of his life, Stella, wife of 67 years, died last August. Just five months later, Jack is now with her again. Jack was a kind and gentle person, devoted to his children and family and their home on the Old Mill Road. He was a superb craftsman. Jack began his career as a machinist and foundry worker, rising through the ranks to become Superintendent at Winnipeg Brass. In his 50s he established Kendall Pattern Works . Working out of his basement shop, he managed a thriving business until just a few years ago when he was physically unable to continue. His patterns and projects are everywhere in Winnipeg. Jack's bronze Manitoba Bison and the Golden Boy, marketed through Birks, are special tributes to Jack's talents. He leaves behind four daughters, Gayle Bueckert, Lynne Herman, Susan Cudney, Kim Brewin; and son Todd; grandchildren, Kerri Tareta (and husband Jeff), Suzanne Bueckert, Julie and Chris Herman and Rachel Kendall; great-granddaughters, Megan and MacKenzie Tareta; sons-in-law, Arthur Bueckert, Lawrence Herman, Alex Cudney, Jim Brewin; and daughter-in-law Cheryl Kendall. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Rudolf Kendall; brothers, Phillip, Edward, William and George; sister Katherine; grandson Tyler Kendall; and great-granddaughter Taylor Tareta. Jack had a passion for family gatherings and Sunday dinners - he always wanted his family with him. He loved the farm in Woodlands he and his son, Todd, had built; his home, property and business backing onto Sturgeon Creek; the cottage at Winnipeg Beach; afternoon Blue Tea with his sweetie; sitting in the sunshine with his shirt off; a Crown Royal schnapps; the General's Club; fixing things for everyone; quiet time in the porch; and dinners cooked lovingly by Stella. Special appreciation to Dr. Paul Lu, Dr. Griggs and the kind nursing staff and caregivers of the Golden West Centennial Lodge. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 3, 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. A Kendall Farewell I join you now ... Stella my love. Our life was sweet ... the cooing of doves. Your passing in summer emptied my heart ... Together, forever ... now never to part. Farewell to our family, our lives and our home. I rest now beside you ... never to roam. A kiss, a hug, we'll see you ... adieu. We're always here with you ... a soft toodle'loo ... Think of us when the sun is shining. Toast us when the family is dining. Be good to each other ... we loved you all so. Your father ... your mother ... it's our time to go ...
