ANNE CAMERON WRIGHT (SHEARER) After a short illness was peacefully released from this world on Sunday, February 26,2006. Eldest of five children Anne was born prematurely on November 28, 1926. She was educated at CNIB on Sherburn St. in Winnipeg where she learned Braille, and met many wonderful friends and mentors. Much of Anne's early life involved activities at Broadway First Baptist Church where she enjoyed a rich and happy involvement in Sunday School and Youth Groups. Anne's faith remained alive and strong throughout her life and was made manifest in her love of singing hymns with family and friends. Her gentle nature endeared her to anyone who knew her. Anne's life, and the many difficult and wonderful circumstances of it have been a great inspiration to her younger siblings. She was able to laugh in spite of the many challenges she endured in this life. It was fun to see her laugh. It was wonderful to laugh with her. Predeceased by her parents, Donald and Mabel Shearer, and her brother Donald Shearer. Survived by sisters, Roberta McCannell (Saskatoon), Catherine Shearer (Winnipeg), and Lee Powell (Falcon Lake), many nieces and nephews, and special friend Gina Bye, who so brightly enriched Anne's life with outings, manicures, and a wonderful personal touch. Many thanks for the wonderful care and love given to Anne during her long stay at Pembina Place Care Home. Funeral Services 2:30 p.m.Thursday, March 2, at Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home at Deaf Center Manitoba, 285 Pembina Hwy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Cremation Services by Thomson Funeral Home.
