MARY ELIZABETH KOBYLAK (nee Goodchild) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandma and Nana, Mary Elizabeth Kobylak, on February 27, 2006 at the age of 84 years. She is now at peace and reunited with predeceased loved ones, including her beloved husband, Jack, granddaughter, Laura, sister, Pearl Howard, brother, Harry Goodchild, and parents, Elizabeth and Roger Goodchild. Born on October 22, 1921, Mary was raised in the East Kildonan area, where she and her husband Jack also brought up their family. She will be lovingly remembered for her gentle heart, generous spirit, and playful sense of humor, as well as the joy she took in caring for her yard, collecting her Santa village, and watching her wrestling shows. She will be especially missed by her sons: Brian (Pat), Barry (Michelle), and Garry; six grandchildren: Charlene (Paul), Barbara (Les), Christopher (Robin), Sarah (Dennis), Joelle (Mike), Carmen (Mike); and four great-grandchildren: Diana, Noah, Travis and Christian. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd., (between Pembina and Waverley). In lieu of flowers and in honor of Mary's lifelong fondness for dogs, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3.
