ROBERT CLARENCE SHORTING (BOB) July 19, 1945 - March 1, 2006 Peacefully on March 1, 2006, Robert (Bob) Shorting passed away. Robert leaves to mourn his loving companion, Ilona Folster/Pruden; favourite grandson Lennox Owen Shorting; daughters, Gayle, Rachel, and Brenda Thompson of British Columbia; sons, Robert Jr., Paul, Alfred, Wayne, and Ronnie; many grandchildren; sisters, Olga Anderson, Sarah Thompson, Maxine (Clifford) Anderson, Eleanor (Allan) McKay, Maryanne (Cyrille) Pahl, Sylvia Sinclair, and Darlene Ross; brother Allan Shorting; uncle Steve McLean of Fairford; aunts, Prisilla Thompson of Fairford, and Mary Shorting (Sinclair) of Little Saskatchewan; special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention. Robert was an amateur boxer in his younger years and inspired many youth into sports activities. He worked as a miner and construction worker for many years, traveling across Canada. Flowers are gratefully declined. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 9 Railway Ave., Ashern, MB with Jim Anderson officiating.
