Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET ELEANOR (PRICE) LANGRELL Violet Eleanor (Price) Langrell passed away the evening of March 2, 2006, with her family at her side. She was 78 years of age. Mom/Auntie Eleanor was predeceased by her father Harry Price in 1948; her brother Lloyd in 1956; her other Birdie in 1970 and her beloved husband Ed in 1998. She is survived by sons, Doug (Donna) and Dennis; daughter Jennifer (Peri) and by her six grandchildren, Laine, Kate, Page, Thomas, Taylor and Tori; by her sister Margaret Stewart and her family; by the extended Langrell family, and by relatives in the British Isles. Eleanor was born on April 11, 1927 on the Price family farm to the west of Warren. She attended school in Warren and completed her high school at United College in Winnipeg, in 1945. After Ed Langrell returned from military service in 1946 the two resumed their close relationship and in October 1947 they were married. They cleared land in the northwest corner of Warren and built a house and farm where they raised their family. Eleanor lived in the same house until moving to Lion's Manor in Stonewall in the year 2000. Family and community were the central themes of Eleanor's life. A more devoted wife and mother would be an extreme rarity. Particularly memorable for Mom's family and friends were her skills as a hostess; few rose from her table hungry. Equally Eleanor took an active interest in the life of the village of Warren. Among her contributions were the coordinating of community showers, organizing figure skating, membership in the Women's Institute and involvement in the creation of the Warren history book. Eleanor was a lifelong member of the Warren United Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and participating in the activities of the United Church Women. Eleanor's family owes a debt of eternal gratitude to those who dedicated so much special attention and loving effort to maintain Eleanor's comfort in her final year of life. We would like in particular to thank the staff of Cancer Care Manitoba, the Health Sciences Centre, Stonewall Hospital and Interlake Regional Home Care and Palliative Services; thanks also to the many friends and neighbours who were so kind and so very generous in their support. In lieu of flowers we request that donations be made to Cancer Care, P.O. Box 2248 Stn. Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 or Warren United Church, Box 324, Warren, MB R0C 3E0.
