ELMER JOHN WILLIMENT After a brief illness, Elmer Williment, aged 79, passed away on March 2, 2006 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. Elmer was born on May 10, 1926, the eighth and last surviving child of Emmanuel and Emma Williment of Miami, MB. Elmer grew up in the Miami area and later moved to Winnipeg where he was later enlisted with the Army. Elmer married Pearl Foster on November 7, 1945, and enjoyed 54½ years together, most of them in the Brooklands area. Elmer worked at a variety of jobs through the years, but was a true carpenter at heart. He took pride in having built their own home and also that of their daughter's. Elmer loved to travel and cherished his many wonderful trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas with Pearl. Elmer like talking about the old days and shared many special stories over the years. He enjoyed spending time with family and looked forward to holiday gatherings. Elmer leaves to mourn his passing son Dwayne (Ellen), granddaughter Cari (Wayne) and children Jeremy and Rhiannon, grandson Brad (Cindy) and children Summer and Allison and granddaughter Kathleen (Jose). He was predeceased by his wife Pearl, daughter Marlene and granddaughter Kimberly, sisters Alice, Olive and Grace, brothers Edgar, Alan, Frank, Walter and Raymond. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 or a charity of your choice.
