ROBERT HALES May 6, 1942 - February 26, 2006 It is with heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) James Hales on February 26, 2006, at Nanaimo General Hospital, while wintering in Parksville. BC. Bob will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Dorothy; son Rob (Lisa, Haley and Jesse) and daughter Tricia. Bob is also survived by his mother Marjorie; sister Judy Demski (Gord Kidd); his brother Bill (Pat); and many nieces and nephews and extended family in Winnipeg, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Colorado. Bob retired in 1995 after thirty-five years of service at the Manitoba Telephone System. Since then, he and Dorothy experienced many wonderful trips and adventures, travelling to Hawaii, other parts of the United States and Canada. Together Bob and Dorothy enjoyed many hours gardening and renovating their summer home in Kenora, ON. Bob enjoyed archery, skiing, hockey and baseball throughout his life, and demonstrated his love of sport by coaching his daughter's ringette team and seeking new experiences white water rafting with Rob. Bob valued his time with his beloved Dorothy, his children, family and friends. Those close to him cherish his quick wit, caring and inquiring mind. The family wishes to thank the wonderful Health Care Team at Nanaimo General Hospital for their care of Bob and support to the family. Cremation has taken place. A notice of a memorial service and celebration of Bob's life will follow later in the spring.
