Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAY EVA VEITCH (nee LYELL) On March 2, 2006 at the Selkirk General Hospital, May Veitch, aged 83 years, of Selkirk, MB. Mum was predeceased by her eldest son, Ian, in the polio epidemic of 1953 and loving husband of 60 years, Bob, in 2003. Mum is survived by son Jim (Pauline) of Selkirk, daughter Pat (Donald) Frederick of St. Albert, AB; grandsons Jason Veitch (Michelle) of East Selkirk, Clayton Veitch (Ruth) of St. Andrews and Ian Frederick of St. Albert, AB. Mum was born in Carlisle, England. She served in the R.A.F. during the war where she met and married Dad in 1943. They immigrated to Canada in 1948 to enjoy a busy life in the RCAF travelling throughout Canada and overseas. They moved to Thompson, MB after retiring from the RCAF in 1974. Mum loved her job as Manager of the Hardware Department at Canadian Tire until 1982 at which time they finally retired in Selkirk. She also loved gardening, sewing, bowling, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and the interment will be held at a later date in the St. Clements Cemetery, Selkirk. The family would like to thank Dr. Demsas and the nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital (Medical Ward) and at the Betel Home in Selkirk for their loving care in Mum's final days. In lieu of flowers donations in Mum's memory may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg R3C 1M5. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
