MABEL FRANCES LENHARDT (nee MOSSOP) In the early morning of Thursday, March 2, 2006, comforted by her son, Mabel peacefully left us to be with God, her mother, father and brother waiting for her in heaven. Left to lovingly remember her forever is her daughter Debbie (Rod); granddaughters, Sarah and Megan; son Harvey (Sandy) and son James (Mariette). There are also many nieces and nephews, friends and family that will miss Mabel. Mabel was born on July 28, 1923 in her uncle's home in Isabella, MB. As a child Mabel was very close to her family and loved school. As a teenager her family moved to Birtle where she made many life long friends and excelled at school. She attended Normal School and taught in the country but decided she liked city life better. As a young adult she began a career at the Woolworth Co. and rose to the highest position she could hold. She married and 17 years later started a family, the centre of her life. Later she returned to work and retired from the Woolco Co., manager of a department. In retirement she travelled to many destinations and finally visited Ireland a life long dream come true. Mabel had many passions: spending time with family/grandchildren, travelling, camping, quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening, dancing, having pets - but most of all she loved to talk and spend time with people. Mabel was a very generous person and gave of her time and treasures freely. She was always there for her children standing proudly, supporting each of them. During her time at Adamar Manor she quickly became involved in many activities and became friends with many of the residents. After health issues she spent the remainder of her life in the Concordia Care Centre, where her family gave back to her all the love she had given them. A special thanks to Bridie, Mitch, many friends and family who visited mom often. Mabel's life was so much more than words could describle. The way she lived her life having family around her, hard work, cherishing each moment, giving and being wise are gifts we will hold dear to us as we walk on the path of our lives. Mom had a strong spirit and will to live. She has left a huge emptiness in our lives but we are comforted knowing she is resting peacefully now. A private family cremation service will take place on Saturday, March 4. A funeral service will be held to celebrate Mabel's life at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside, on Monday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m. Thanks to Rev. Milly Malavsky for presiding over the service. A reception will be held after the service at the church. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
