STEPHEN GOTS Peacefully in his sleep, Steve left this world, on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the Park Manor Personal Care Home, at the age of 92 years. Born in Hungary in 1913, he was the youngest of 7 boys in the family. Steve travelled to Canada in 1957, where, he eventually met his wife Mary, also from Hungary. Together they made a home in Winnipeg, where he worked (until retirement) at Federal Pioneer Electric (now Pauwels Canada) and had a daughter, Marianna. He was an Electrician by trade, but his talents didn't end there. Steve loved to do woodworking, there wasn't anything he couldn't fix and if there wasn't a tool for what he wanted to do, he would invent it to make the job easier. He kept an immaculate garden and in the latter years enjoyed helping his son-in-law Robert, with many projects inside and out of the house. Steve loved animals and had a few special pets that shared his life. He was a loving husband and father. Steve loved people, finding it hard to enter a room without announcing his presence with a warm Hello, or leaving without saying Goodbye to all. His sense of humour transcended language barriers. Steve's funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. in the Park Manor Personal Care Home, 2nd Floor - 301 Redonda St., Transcona, with Chaplain John Diamond officiating. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the special people that work at Park Manor where they made it home for Papa as he was known, during his last six years.
