Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH ALICE BAMBURAK December 13, 1923 March 5, 2006 In the presence of daughters Joan and Shirley and sister Jean, Elizabeth Alice Bamburak passed away peacefully with dignity and grace at the Maples Personal Care Home. Mom will be dearly missed by daughter Joan Wiebe, grandson Darrin Wiebe (Pamela), great- grandchildren, Karli, Tanner, Cody; grandson Randy Wiebe; daughter Shirley Parfeniuk (Ken), granddaughter Trina (Collin) Einarson and great-grandchildren Brady and Tessa. She is also survived by sister Jean Sullivan; brothers, Murphy (Marg) Dola and John (Irene) Dola and their families. Elizabeth was predeceased by husband William in June 2000; parents, Nicholas and Mary Dola; and sister Ann Robertson. Mom enjoyed meeting and pleasing people. Mom finally retired from work at the Dakota Village Motor Hotel after 30 years of dedicated service working as Assistant Manager who was in charge of arranging banquets and wedding receptions. There are many people who remember Alice as the reason why their social function ran so smoothly. She gave 110% of herself to make sure that the party was a success. To mom the greatest place on earth was Hawaii. There was no other vacation spot for her. That is where her heart was. Paradise on earth as she would always say. Year after year, 25 to be exact, she went back to the islands to bask in the glorious Hawaiian sunshine. Sunday was the day when mom would entertain her family and friends to brunch and supper and always made sure that everyone was well fed and had their care packages to take home. There was no greater joy for her then when she was with her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the diamonds in her tiara each one shining in their own bright way. When the grandkids were ready to take on a job they were often offered a job at the hotel and just because grandma was the boss there was no sitting on your laurels those kids would have to work extra hard to prove themselves grandma made it a little easier for Trina cause she was a girl while she had a cushy job of coat checker and folding napkins, Darrin and Randy had their hands in hot water doing dishes and clearing tables. Aunty Jeanette, thank you for all your visits to see mom while she was at home, at the hospital and then at her new home at the Maples. She always looked forward to seeing you and hearing your voice over the phone. You have a big heart filled with lots of love for everyone. Thank you for being there right to the end to say farewell to your sister. A huge thank you to Luba for all your love and caring that you showed towards Mom. Thank you to the Nursing and Care Staff of 1 West, Maples Personal Care Home for your kind and tender care you showed towards mom during her last days. Everyone was absolutely wonderful and the family will always remember each and every one of you for your compassion and support during this time. Mom is now at peace and reunited with predeceased loved ones, especially with cousin Judy Gurman and Aunty Pearl Bass. When these three girls got together, there was lots of fun and laughter. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with Rev. Fr. Ray Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment will follow at St Williams Cemetery, on Hwy number 8 north. Pallbearers are Darrin Wiebe, Randy Wiebe, Collin Einarson, Ron Newman, Paul Hykaway and Ryan Wood. Flowers gratefully accepted or donation to Heart and Stroke Foundation. Mom, we hold you close within our hearts and there you will always remain. We love you Mom. Rest in Peace. Aloha!
