THOMAS CHARLES (CHARLIE) ARGLE Sadly, on March 4, 2006 at the Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank, Thomas Charles Argle, affectionately known as Charlie , passed away at the age of 79. Born on August 31, 1926, the fourth son of George and Jeanie Argle of Hazelridge and brother to Dave (Campbell), Fred, George, Earl, Cora and Mae, Charlie would go on to live his entire life on the family farm in Hazelridge, taking over the farm in 1964 following the passing of his Dad. His Mom remained with him on the farm until her passing in 1981. Charlie continued to operate the farm until March of 2001, and then in May moved into Kin Place Personal Care Home, where he remained until his passing. He attended elementary school and high school to Grade 10 at Hazelridge Consolidated School, leaving school to work full time on the farm at the beginning of the Second World War. After the war, he worked for a few months for Manitoba Hydro but ultimately farming was to be his lifetime occupation. During his younger years, Charlie was actively involved in sports, learning to skate and play hockey on the family outdoor rink across the road, and later on the rink in Hazelridge. Charlie played baseball and also coached the local girl's softball team in Hazelridge. Later, Charlie joined the Hazelridge Curling Club and was also involved in the local 4H Club. He was predeceased by his parents George and Jeanie; brother Dave Campbell and sister-in-law Jean; brother Fred Argle and sister-in-law Catherine; brother-in-law George Bell, and nephew George Argle. He will be sadly missed by his brother George (Hilda), his brother Earl (Evelyn), his sister Cora Bell, his sister Mae Rennie (Gerald), as well as nieces, nephews, their spouses and their children. Funeral services for Charlie will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing one hour prior, at the Oakbank United Church, Oakbank, MB. A reception will follow at the church. Interment at Sunnyside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Charlie, the family requests that donations be made to Kin Place Personal Care Home, Box 28, Oakbank, R0E 1J0, which will be put towards the purchase of a mobile reclining chair for family members to use when spending the night with a resident. Our heartfelt thanks to all the nurses, staff and volunteers at Kin Place for the love and care given to Charlie during his time there.
