NORMAN ANDERSON Norman Alfried Anderson, peacefully after a well fought extended illness, Norm passed away in Winnipeg, at St. Boniface Hospital on March 4, 2006 at the age of 79 years. Missing Norm is his loving wife of 56 years Grace; sons, Laurie and wife Paula of Grande Prairie, AB, Greg and wife Debbie of Prince George, BC and grandchildren, Aidan, Gina, Kimberly, and Rhys, and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Alfried and Ruby Anderson, and granddaughter Caihla. Norm was born in Winnipeg on February 11, 1927. As a young man he joined the Canadian National Railway as an apprentice carpenter and carman working his way to Rolling Stock Maintenance Supervisor before his retirement in 1986. He was a friend to all and always enjoyed a spirited discussion. Up until the end Norm spent every summer at the island on Rainy Lake where he valued his self built cabin and his many lake friends. Norm was also a piper and played many years with the Shrine Pipe Band. He also enjoyed square dancing with the Paws N'Taws in Winnipeg and Pairs and Squares in Fort Francis for many years. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa and we are pleased to have been part of his life. Norm's family would like to thank the excellent doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface surgical intensive care and coronary ward for their continuous support, compassion and understanding during this very difficult past four months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. The family would like to invite friends to a service in celebration of Norm's life to be held on Wednesday, March 8, at 4:00 p.m. in the Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Dr. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J.
