BLANDINE (LINDY / LINDA) COOK (nee CHATEAU) Peacefully on March 4, 2006 at the Foyer Valade, Blandine passed away at the age of 91. Blandine was predeceased by her husband Bob Cook; her parents, Baptiste and Marie (Tranq) Château; her sister Tina (Augustine) Château-Tétrault and brothers-in-law, Leonard Conrad and Fernand Lanthier. She was also predeceased by her husband Bob's son, Bob and his wife Joan, as well as their daughter Heather-Lynn. Blandine leaves to mourn her passing her sister Aline Conrad; nieces and nephews, David Conrad, Barbara (Ed) Johnson, Edith Conrad, Richard (Carolyne) Conrad, Diane (Léandre) Buissé, Simone (Rick) Smith, Paul Lanthier, René Lanthier; step-grandsons, Bruce and David Cook, as well as great-nieces and nephews. Aunty B (matante Dine) was born in Cardinal, MB, and came to the big city to work at an early age. She worked for Eatons for over 40 years, her last many years in the accounting department. Blandine's greatest joy was in assisting family members in need. Next in line was her big Persian cat Smoky. She also immensely enjoyed eating out and treating family to meals out. Family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses, health care aids and activity workers of the Foyer Valade who brightened her days for the past nine years. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Eugène Roman Catholic Church, 1007 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, with Fr. Marcel Carrière officiating. Viewing will be one half hour prior to the service. As per her wishes, cremation will take place and interment will be in Green Acres Cemetery at a later date.
