RAYMOND FRANK WLOCK Peacefully, at home, on Saturday, March 4, 2006 after a brief battle with cancer, Raymond passed away at the age of 70 years. Remaining to forever cherish in Raymond's memory are his loving wife, Eunice (nee Wolanyk) of 40 years of marriage; daughter Denise Wade (Paul); son Peter; daughter Louise Bentley (Ken) and the light of his life, granddaughter Katreena Bentley. He is also survived by his brothers, Vincent of Melville, SK., Edward (Pat) of Winnipeg, Ted (Sonya) of Yorkton, SK.; sister Idell Pacholko (Fred) of Regina, SK.; mother-in-law Olga Wolanyk Swystun; brother-in-law Michael Wolanik as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father John; mother Mary (nee Dubiel); sister-in-law Violet Wlock and father-in-law Mike Wolanyk. On November 16, 1935 Raymond was born on the family farm near Fenwood, SK. He joined his brother Ed in the big city Winnipeg in 1957. Raymond was employed at Wilson Auto Electric for 15 years; was owner-operator of The Ole Wash Tub Laundromat on Wellington Avenue in the 70's and retired from Manitoba Hydro in 1996 after 20 years of service. Raymond was a loving father, good neighbour and friend. There wasn't anything Raymond couldn't fix or build. To his children he was Handy Ray , working with them on numerous projects, whether it was car repairs, rec rooms, decks, fences or crown molding - their homes and his own are a testament to his talents. His neighbours could always count on Raymond's help with repairs, grass cutting, snow shoveling or planting flowers. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m., also in the church, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Our heartfelt thanks to all the Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare, Palliative and Homecare staff for looking after Raymond with such care and compassion the last three months. In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond's memory may be made to the Sandra Schmirler Foundation, c/o Canadian Curling Association, 1660 Vimont Court, Cumberland, ON, K4A 4J4. Raymond's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
