MAY HEIPEL (nee CHRISTIANSON) January 19, 1915 - March 7, 2006 Peacefully, on March 7, 2006 May passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 91. May was predeceased by her son David in 1970; her husband Jack in 1984; and her parents Ole (Belinda) Christianson and stepmother Lilie; siblings, Oscar, Alvin, Tommy, Beatrice, and Joe. May will be lovingly remembered by her son Bob; grandchildren, Pam (Scott Collen) and Sean (Kim), great-grandchildren; Cory, Samantha, Desiree, Nathan, and Kirsten; brother Dick; sisters, Barbara and Betty. May will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. May was born and raised near Spalding, SK, she moved to Winnipeg as a young woman and spent most of her life in the St. James area. May worked at Birt's Saddlery until her retirement in 1980. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. May loved spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital (5N) and the homecare workers for their care and kindness. A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 11, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with viewing one half hour prior. An interment and reception will follow. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca Remembrances may be made to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 in May's memory.
