MURIEL SNUGGS Muriel passed away peacefully on March 7, 2006 at Oakview Place. She is survived by her sons, Don (Betty), Miles (Elaine), and Doug (Val); her grandchildren, Jennifer (Kelly), Amy (Ryan), Daniel and Matthew and one great-grandson, Jack. Muriel also leaves behind her sister Jeanne (Phil), as well as many nieces and nephews. Muriel was predeceased by her dear husband Harry, her grandson Stephen, her sisters, Gertrude and Dorothy and her brothers, Murray and Montague. She was born Muriel Schneider on January 11, 1911 in Brandon, MB and lived there until her marriage to Harry in 1943. They settled in Winnipeg to raise a family. Her life was devoted to raising her children. In addition she and Harry opened their home to a great number of foster children over the years. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was most at home in the kitchen or when rocking a baby in her arms. We fondly remember the many family gatherings at her home with her sisters and brother and their families. Muriel moved to Oakview Place in 1999. We extend our thanks to the staff at Oakview for the loving and compassionate care they provided Mom over the years. A memorial service for Muriel will take place on Tuesday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue with The Rev. Ian J. E. Mills officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Muriel's memory to Winnipeg Harvest Inc. 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2 or to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
