Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUDRUN LILJA THOREY ISFELD (nee JACOBSON) November 12, 1934 - March 8, 2006 Sadly, Gudrun Isfeld passed away at the Gimli Community Health Centre. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Bob; son Ian; daughter Donna (Ken); grandson Chris; step-grandchildren Janel and Jason; two great- grandchildren, Thora and Kiana. She also leaves behind her brother Gestur (Olive); sisters Gloria (Gordon) and Jeannette (Baldur); sister-in-law Sandy; brother-in-law Allan (June), sisters-in-law, Audrey (Fred) and Maria (Vern) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Ray Jacobson. Gudrun was born on November 12, 1934 to parents Sena and Jim Jacobson. She spent her childhood years in Arborg and moved to Gimli when she married Bob in 1954. Gudrun was an artist and a past member of the Art Club. She painted one of the pictures that beautify the Gimli Harbour Seawall. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, knitting and crocheting and always had a book on the go. Whenever there was a wedding in the family she was asked to make the wedding cake and made many a birthday cake as well. Her arms were always open to anyone who needed a hug. The family would like to thank Dr. Magerman and the wonderful staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre for the gentle and loving care given to Mom. A special thank you to the friends who gave support to the family during this difficult time. God bless you all. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gimli Lutheran Church with Mona Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Husavik Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Goodie, or Amma Goodie, as she was also known as, was a wife, mom, amma, lang amma, sister, aunt and friend; a beautiful caring person who charmed us with her wit and touched our hearts forever.
