LILLIAN GOODMAN (nee STEVENSON) September 1, 1921 - March 7, 2006 After a valiant struggle with cancer, Lillian died at the Selkirk General Hospital. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Siggi; parents, Albert and Emilia Stevenson; brothers, Steve, Robert, Arthur, Oliver, and Emil; sister Valdine and nephews, Melvin and Dwayne. Lillian is survived by her niece Myrna (Paul) Yaschyshyn and nephew David Carlson, as well as Siggi's surviving relatives and families; brother John J.R. Goodman (Audrey); sister Laurey Davis and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was born in Winnipegosis, MB. In her youth she bravely joined the Armed Forces and was stationed in Shilo where she was a driver. Other early jobs were at Eatons, catalog sales in Selkirk and the main store in Winnipeg. Lillian retired from Tudor House where she met new friends and reconnected with old ones. She had a zest for life, enjoying visits with family, friends and close neighbors, Elaine and Carman. She loved driving back to Winnipegosis and her trips to the Downs with Siggi. Lillian was proud of her Icelandic heritage and her membership in the Icelandic National League. She was a lifelong member of the Icelandic Lutheran Church where she sung in the choir. Thanks to close neighbors and friends at the Lions Centennial Manor, Tudor House, The Legion, H.C.P.s at SGH, Valerie and Myrna. A Celebration of Lillian's life in Christ will be held on Friday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Selkirk, MB. with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. Donations may be made in Lillian's memory to CancerCare, MB, 675 McDermot Ave, Wpg., MB, R3E 0V9 or to the Canadian Diabetes Assoc., 102-310 Broadway, Wpg., MB, R3C 0S6. Rest in Peace.
