L. HARLEY COULTHARD L. Harley Coulthard of Birtle, MB passed away peacefully at Brandon hospital at the age of 84 years on February 19, 2006 after a short illness. He was born in Clearwater, MB on January 6, 1922. After finishing high school in Souris he joined the Royal Bank. He worked in Melita and Wawanesa until joining the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served his country in the Second World War mostly in Kenya, Africa. When he returned to Canada he returned to the Royal Bank and worked as a manager in several locations in Manitoba as well as Lachine, QC. He retired from the bank and lived in Oakville, ON until moving to Birtle. He is survived by his sister, Betty Fraser of Ontario; two grandsons, Ryan and Morgan and two great-grandchildren, Miranda and Shaun, all of Manitoba; nephews, Keith and Allan Fraser and niece, Heather Shoniker, all of Ontario. Harley was predeceased by his wife Hilda and son Duane. A service was held on February 25 at Birtle United Church with interment at Birtle Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or the War Amps of Canada.
