Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE (KATIE) SIGURDSON (nee ZEKE) 1905 - 2006 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother at the age of 100 years, on March 9, 2006. Katie is survived by two daughters Josie Harris, Ivy (Allen) Backman; two sons Eddie (Louise), Franklin (Ella), also 27 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, seven great-great- grandchildren and a sister Beatrice Lawrence. She was predeceased by her parents Katherine and Henry Zeke, her husband Johannes and a daughter Audrey (Fred) Burdett. Katie grew up in Argyle area and then with her parents moved to Hove. She married Joe Sigurdson in 1923. They farmed for many years in the Oak Point area. She was a loving, kind and thoughtful person who lived for her family. In later years, she lived in the Lundar Seniors Home and then in the Personal Care Home where she passed away with her family by her side. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at the Oak Point Community Hall with Melanie Kauppila officiating. Interment to follow at the Oak Point (East) Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her six granddaughters, Linda Dodd, Sharon Goodman, Cheryl Johnson, Gail West, Tannis Gudmundson, and Shelley Krause. The rest of her grandchildren will be honourary pallbearers for her that day. The family would like to thank Dr. Koulack at the Health Sciences Centre, Dr. Burdett and staff at the Eriksdale Hospital, and to the Lundar Personal Care Home for the wonderful care they gave our Mom.
