Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySAM DAVISON Sam passed away peacefully on March 7, 2006 at Central Park Lodge. Sam was predeceased by his wife Irene in 2001. Left to mourn his passing are his nephew Bruce and his children Leigh and Scott and his niece Debbie and her children Gillian and Sean as well as his many friends at First Presbyterian Church. Sam was born in Winnipeg on August 23, 1912. Sam's parents immigrated from Ireland and settled in St. James. Sam was a boy who loved sports and played hockey, soccer and baseball. Sam carried his love of sports throughout his entire life. Sam enjoyed tennis as a younger man but eventually discovered golf and curling, the two sports that he avidly played well into his senior years. He loved to watch hockey and golf on TV. Sam worked his whole life for the CNR and was a hard working and loyal employee. Sam married Irene Sutter in 1954. Sam and Irene enjoyed an active social life and spent much of their time golfing, going to Bomber games, concerts, dances and other social events with their numerous friends. Sam and Irene also enjoyed travel and had fond memories of Ireland and Hawaii. Sam was a gentleman who was well respected by his family, his community, his friends and those who helped look after him in his last years. He was an uncomplaining optimist to the end. His family would like to thank the staff at the Westhaven and also at Central Park Lodge for all of their kindness and help over the last number of years and for the thoughts and prayers of the members of First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
