Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE MAY ANDERSON (nee LILLIES) February 9, 1912 - March 9, 2006 Florence passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital in her 95th year on March 9, 2006. She is survived by her youngest sister Edna Pinniger; daughter Kathleen Newcombe (Charles); her much beloved granddaughters, Leah (Jason Tutlies), Christie, Kelly (Orr Kolesnik) and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Oscar and Edna (nee May) Lillies; her much loved husband of 47 years, Clarence; brothers, Leslie and Tom; and sisters, Agnes Lillies, Frances Lillies, Vivian Harcus and Lillian Brownrigg. Her working career included the Hudson's Bay Company, the Manitoba Department of Agriculture and latterly the Manitoba Department of the Attorney-General from which she retired in 1974 after 25 years of service. In recent years she enjoyed historical biographies, politics and current events, bridge and especially summers at the family cottage on Traverse Bay. At Florence's request cremation has taken place and a Remembrance Service will be held at Stonewall United Church on Monday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. with a private interment to follow. A reception will be held at Stonewall Lions Manor for friends and family. We wish to thank Dr. Karen Klym, the 5th floor staff of Victoria General Hospital, her Home Care workers and friends at Lions Manor for their care, concern and many kindnesses. In lieu of flowers, if friends wish, a donation in Florence's name may be made to Stonewall United Church of which she was a lifelong member.
