PHYLLIS CONSTANCE G. MITCHELL (nee WAUCHOPE) September 1, 1919 ~ March 10, 2006 Peacefully, in her sleep on March 10, 2006 Phyllis passed away at Tuxedo Villa at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Douglas. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her daughters; Dale (Gord) Patterson and Cheryl (Mike) Fitzpatrick; granddaughters Dawn (Mike), Shannon (Jarret), Jacquie, Meghan; great-grandsons Kael, and Draven. She will also be remembered by her sister-law Barbara (George) Forzley, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Phyllis was born and raised in Winnipeg; she graduated from Daniel MacIntyre and worked at Hudson Bay Company prior to raising her family. Phyllis was a member of the Chancel Guild of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and served many years as a volunteer throughout the church. She volunteered for CancerCare and The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Phyllis enjoyed staying active until her later years. Mom always had a way of remembering everyone's important dates and acknowledging them in her unique and considerate way. The family would like to thank the staff at The Rosewood Village and Tuxedo Villa for their kindness shown to Mom. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church at Donald and Graham. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue with a reception following in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis' memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg R3E 0V9, the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg R3L 0K6 or to a charity of choice.
