Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGOSTINHO DOS REIS Peacefully, at the Middlechurch Home, on Saturday, March 11, 2006, our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather joined his wife Maria and entered into his eternal rest. Lovingly remembered by his children, Tony (Colette), Jose (Bev), John, Frank (Linda), Rui (Pam), Nelson (Wendy), Dora (Murray), Agostinho (Lisa); grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, Jana (René), David (Alison), Douglas (Laura), Nicole, Justin, Christine, Amanda, Melissa, Jack, Warren, Alexandra, Danielle, Jamie, Jessie; great-grandchildren, Brandyn, Karah, Madison and Emma, Sammi-Jo, Dallas, Celica, Chanel, Christian and Luke. He is also survived by his brother Manuel (Alda); his sister Maria of Winnipeg, Rosaria of Toronto, Lurdes of Boston; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada, US, and Açores. Agostinho was predeceased by his father Antonio, his mother Maria; brothers, Joe, Tony, John, Lui and his sisters, Chica and Mariana. Agostinho was born in Santa Barba, St. Miguel, Acores on March 28, 1924. He emigrated to Canada in 1958, leaving his wife and six boys in Portugal. He worked for CNR and in 1962 was able to bring his family to Canada. He was a hard working man, took pride in his family and was extremely dedicated to serving his church. During the last few years, he struggled with ill health and now has found peace that he so much deserved. Prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin St. N. with funeral service on Wednesday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Reception will be held at Parish Hall following prayers. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, David, Douglas, Warren and Jack Reis and his nephews, Edward Farias and Tony Reis. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations in Agostinho's memory, may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to those staff at Middlechurch Home who cared so compassionately for Agostinho during his final hours. Also a sincere thank you to all the staff for their kindness to the family during this difficult time. May God Bless you and keep you safe. Rest in peace dad until we meet again.
