KELSEY ANN KING
Date of Passing: Mar 12, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKELSEY ANN KING It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Kelsey on Sunday, March 12, 2006, just a day before her 19th birthday. She passed away at home surrounded by those she loved, her Mom, Dad, brother Scott, her precious cats, Robbie, Figaro and KiKi and dog Joey. Her courageous two and a half year battle with cancer has come to an end and she is now at peace, in heaven with her Lord. Kelsey leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins, her Grampa Harry King and her very special cousin (sister) Lindsey. We have lost a gentle soul who touched many lives in her short time with us. An avid reader and writer, she loved books and expressing her thoughts on paper. Besides her academics, she loved being active and enjoyed the sport of soccer from an early age. Playing the game was one of the things that her illness stole from her. She was known for her smile, her positive attitude and her encouraging words. Throughout her illness she rarely complained. Even after losing her sight in one eye and the use of her right arm. While she accomplished so much in her 18+ years, she had so much more she wanted to do. She always aimed for the sky and she had so much potential. Kelsey's friends were very important to her. They stuck with her during her illness, during good times and bad. Sam, Sondra, Paige and Jordie to name but a few. The rest, you know who you are. Her memory will remain strong in the hearts and minds of all whose lives she touched. Cliff, Betty Ann and Scott would like to thank all their friends, family, neighbours and co-workers for the tremendous support we have been blessed with since our journey with Kelsey began in 2003. Thanks to all the staff at CancerCare and Children's CK 5 for their care and concern with Kelsey. A special thanks to Cathy Bourne for being there for us. A celebration of Kelsey's life will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 17 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 200 Dalhousie Dr. with a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kelsey's memory to the Kelsey King Scholarship Fund for Linden Meadows School (send cheques payable to Pembina Trail Education Support Fund , in care of 181 Henlow Bay, Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1M1 and note them re: Kelsey King or to the Terry Fox Foundation. I try to think about the Lord's plan for me as I listen coldly to the hands of the ticking of the clock. It's like breaths of fresh air are dwindling but I have to understand that Heaven's fresh air is waiting for me too. - Kelsey King, March 4, 2006. Goodnight Sweetie, we love you. I'm sorry this has taken me so long to write, Kelsey was inspiration in physical form. Defined admiration and tenacity, more profound than any person I've ever met and yet I only had the chance to meet her for a moment it seems. every life she touched will forever be graced and every life she never had the opportunity to will truly be meek. I can only hope that you find some semblance of relief knowing that she has bettered every person just by existing for even as short a time as it was. I want to thank all of her family for being her inspiration to be a good person always, in essence you have all made the world a better place. - Posted by: Anonymous () on: Nov 08, 2012

What a loss. Kelsey was as lovely inside as she was beautiful on the outside. Our sympathies are with the King family. - Posted by: Nan Dyck (Acquaintance) on: Mar 15, 2006
