Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEANIE UNRAU (nee HUDSON) (January 6, 1947 - March 13, 2006) After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, the family sadly announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend. With her family and friends at her bedside on Monday, March 13, 2006 at the Thompson General Hospital, Mrs. Jean Unrau, aged 59 years. Prayers will take place on Thursday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 114 Cree Rd. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. also in the church with Fr. Eugene White officiating. Cremation has taken place and interment of cremains will follow in the Thompson Cemetery. Jeanie was born to Charlotte and Andrew Hudson on January 6, 1947 in Big Black River, MB. She spent most of her life living in Grand Rapids, MB where she raised her two sons. She later spent several years in Thompson, MB where she raised her two little girls. Those who knew Jeanie were blessed by her friendship and love. She embraced all challenges with grace and dignity including her fight with cancer. Although she lost her battle. Jeanie will live on forever in our hearts. She is already immensely missed and will never be forgotten. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband Gary; son Paul Avanthay; daughters, Raven Pearl and Danielle Louise; granddaughters, Malerie and Martine; mother Charlotte Hudson; sister Annie Hudson; brothers, George Hudson (Edna), Raymond Hudson (Patsy), Arnold Mitchell (Bridgette), Also left to mourn is the Unrau family plus numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. All who were very dear to her heart. Jeanie was predeceased by her son Roger Avanthay on August 13, 2004, father Andrew Hudson on October 8, 1992, sister Pearl Wass on February 18, 1992 Our family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and doctors who cared for Jeanie at the Thompson General Hospital, for their dedications and outstanding care and support during her short stay.
