ANASTASIA (FLORENCE / NETTIE) SAMBORSKI (nee SPUZAK) February 11, 1912 - March 13, 2006 Peacefully, and with family at her side, our dear aunt and grandmother passed from this world while at rest in her room at the Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen St. in Winnipeg where she had resided since December 29, 2000. She was predeceased by her husband Mike, on May 14, 1978. They enjoyed many happy years together at 615 Redwood Ave. She was also predeceased by her two daughters, Marge Driver and Jeanette Badiou and all 10 of her siblings, brothers, Bill, Mike, Paul, Harry, Pete, John and Metro Spuzak and sisters, Margaret Herneshen, Mary Bobrovich and Pearl Boitson. Florence is survived by four grandsons, Ron and Don Kinash and Darrell and Terry Driver, six great-grandchildren, niece / godchild Doreen Pendgracs, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ron and Don Kinash, Darrell Driver, Terry Driver Jr., Terry Driver Sr. and Ron Herneshen. Florence was best known for her radiant smile and warm nature. Everyone who knew her will remember that feisty and vibrant personality. Florence was the daughter of Anna Fenc and Pantalaemon (Panko) Spuzak and was born in Husavick, MB. She spent most of her life in Winnipeg and prior to moving to the Holy Family Home, she resided at the Knights of St. Josaphat Seniors' Residence on McGregor Street. In her prime, Florence enjoyed hosting large family gatherings and spent many hours cooking and preparing in anticipation of everyone's arrival. She also enjoyed gardening and loved music. She definitely enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed by all who knew her. Once her abilities and the space of her living quarters decreased, she still enjoyed attending family gatherings and always looked forward to getting together with the bunch. The family wishes to thank all the staff of 2A at Holy Family Personal Care Home - especially Andrea, Wilma, Agnes, Janice and Myrtle who brought great joy to her daily life. Hats off to you gals for making our special gal feel even more special. Florence's life will be celebrated at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18. Burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
