Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN SYDNEY MARTIN On March 17, 2006, after a brief illness, Norman passed away at the age of 83. Norman was born December 20, 1922 in London, England. He served with the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. While stationed at Carberry, MB he met and married his wife Aileen in August 1944. After his discharge from the RAF he returned to Canada in 1946 to begin his new life. He worked for many years in the optical industry retiring from Oakley Optical in 1979. Norman is survived by his wife Aileen and sons, Wayne (Sally) and Neil (Jan); five grandchildren Melanie (Philip), Nigel(Nicole), Jonathan (Tiana) Jayne, and Travis; and two great-grandchildren, Nevayah and Conner. He his also survived by his sisters, Joan and Ina and brother Christopher in England. He was predeceased by his son Gregg in 1998. The family would like to thank the home care services that allowed our parents to remain in their own home until February of this year. We would also like to thank the staff of Concordia Hospital for the care our father received during his illness and lastly we would like to thank Dad's physician, Dr. Peter Tomy, for his many years of care provided to Dad. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 21, at 10:00 a.m. from Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 701 Regent West. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concordia Hospital or a charity of one's choice in Norman's memory.
