RENA ANN ROOS Peacefully, on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the age of 77 years, Rena Ann Roos went to join the love of her life, Olaf Gordon Roos in the arms of Jesus. She has left to mourn her passing her beloved children, James Roos (Gayle), Judith Suddaby (Pat), and Ingrid Piper. She leaves behind, her grandchildren, Kyle Roos (Jodie), Daniel Roos, Ryan Suddaby, Tegin Suddaby, Melissa Piper (Jamie), Christine Piper, Gregory Piper and great-grandchildren, Bailey Piper-Neuls and Riley Piper. She also leaves to mourn, her sister Marjorie Savoie (Marc) and her many friends and staff at the Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Olaf Gordon Roos on September 3, 1997. Rena was born in Summerside, PEI where she met her loving husband, Olaf. They were married in Summerside on October 2, 1950 and had their first child, James. They moved to Winnipeg in 1952 and soon had Judith and Ingrid. The importance of family was central to Rena and so she spent her married years as a devoted wife and mother. She worked hard to have a spotless house, meals for her family, and love and contentment with her husband and children. She had many interests that also kept her occupied including watching her husband curl joined by the other curling wives, playing poker with the poker gals on Fridays, and of course she loved her bingo. In later life, she enjoyed visits from her brother Earl Cahill, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could frequently be seen speeding around in her wheelchair with Bailey or Riley riding on the back. She urged us to always love each other, not to fight, and to be there for each other. She will be greatly missed and always loved. Mass will be said Wednesday, March 22 at St. Vital Catholic Church, 1639 Pembina Hwy., 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 23, 1:30 p.m. at the Deaf Centre, 285 Pembina Hwy., with reception to follow. Interment will be held privately for family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Dear Jim , Judy and Ingrid My mother who still lives in Fort Garry alerted me to the passing of your beloved mother. I have fond memories of being in the Roos household often while growing up on Beaumont Bay. You were a real family and your dear mother I remember as a loveable, sweet person that had warmth, humour and a genuine character. May your memories of Rena and your faith console you and draw you all closer to one another in the love that your mother had for each of you. Your "old " friend Rev.
