REGINALD KIRKNESS December 18, 1950- March 15, 2006 With family by his side, at the Fisher River Personal Care Home, our dear brother Reggie went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2006. Left to cherish his memory are his brother Clarence (Susan); sister Darlene (George) of Fisher River, sisters, Verna and Mary Ann of Winnipeg; nephews, David of Ottawa, Greg and Kevin of Winnipeg; nieces, Pam and family of Nebraska, Gloria and family of Rolling River; special friend, Mabel Chartrand and family of Winnipeg; numerous relatives, friends, colleagues, and clients at the Fisher River Band Office, where he was employed in the Welfare Administration area. Reg was the kind of person who could light up a room with his wonderful sense of humour, by his testimony in word and song, and just by his very presence. As one of his colleagues wrote in a note to him there will never be another person like you...and I count it a privilege to call you a friend and a brother in the Lord . Reg witnessed for the Lord right to the end. We heard him encourage a young person who had recently come to the Lord and he challenged one of his care-givers to pursue the path of faith in God. The family offers special thanks to the Fisher River Personal Care Home staff, who lovingly cared for Reggie A service will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 5:45 p.m. at the Fisher River Personal Care Home. Wake service will follow at 7:00 p.m., at the Stevens Memorial United Church Hall, Fisher River, MB. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m., at the Stevens Memorial United Church, Fisher River, MB., with Rev. John Halcrow officiating. Interment will follow at the Fisher River Cemetery.
