ADA MAY LINDSAY (nee HARTENBERG) With sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of May Lindsay on March 15, 2006 at the Grace Hospice. May's courage and perseverance during her long illness were an inspiration to all who knew her. May will be greatly missed by her husband Harold; daughter Hazel Selymes; son Bob and daughterin-law Glenna; sister Teenie Miller; sister Minnie and brother-in-law Carl Klimpke; and grandchildren, Jacqui Selymes, Trevor Selymes and Shane Lindsay. May was predeceased by her sister Anne Reid. May was born in 1921 on her parents' dairy farm in Lydiatt, MB and the family moved to Springfield soon after. Here, May enjoyed her association with Springfield United Church and joined her long time friend May Black in playing piano for church services. May spoke fondly of her life as a young woman when she lived on Balmoral Avenue. with friends, and worked as a bookkeeper at Merchants Consolidated. May married Harold in 1946, and they began their married life in Winnipeg where Hazel was born. In 1951, they moved to Kenora where Bob was born. Subsequent transfers were made to Swift Current, Regina, St. Albert and Winnipeg. Throughout her life, May was active in charitable work, golf, bowling, travelling and gardening, but, above all else, she valued the time she spent with her family. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospice for their excellent care and dedication. A memorial service will be held at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave., Monday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E0V9.
