DANILO AMBROSI Peacefully, with his family by his side, Danilo Ambrosi passed away at the Misericordia Health Centre, on March 14, 2006, at the age of 79 years. Danilo will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years Josephine; sons, Danilo and Garry; granddaughters, Danielle and Chantale; brothers, Renato (Murial) of Salmon Arm, BC, Graziano (Augusta), Franco (Anna) and Giorgio (Raffaella); sisters, Grazialla (Gianni) Nicoletto and Carla (Giampiero) Ponzelletti all of Italy and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonia and Pietro; and brother Carlos. Nonno was born in Venezia, Italy on June 7, 1926. In 1958 he immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg with his wife, working as a welder until his retirement in 1991. Nonno loved working in his yard and his garden and also loved travelling to Mexico with his family. He also enjoyed learning about everything from nature to culture to politics and particularly enjoyed his long-term subscription to National Geographic. Special thanks to the staff at Misericordia Health Centre for their compassionate care during this difficult time. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 21, at 3:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Danilo may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5.
