JEANIE CAMPBELL HUTTON With deep sadness and loving release, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Jeanie Campbell Hutton (Ross) on Wednesday, March 15, 2006. In 1946 Mom came to Canada as a 19 year old War Bride with a baby boy in tow. She left behind, in Scotland, all her friends and family. Mom felt blessed when she was so warmly and lovingly embraced by her new Canadian family. This welcome lasted Mom's entire life. After a few gypsy years and three children, Mom and Dad settled in Rivers, MB. Mom worked tirelessly alongside Dad building their home and raising their family, which now numbered four. Mom took a job at the Rivers Air Base to help support her family and both sets of grandparents as they became aged and needed help. Mom and Dad enjoyed square dancing and were very involved with the Rivers Legion for many years. They were also instrumental in the organization of the Rivers and District Pipe Band and Highland Dance Group. Mom was employed at the Rivers Air Base for 14 years and retired upon Dad's transfer to Winnipeg in 1970. Mom's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and each of us is a better person because of her. Mom enjoyed sewing, gardening, weekends at the lake, garage sales and any bargain . Mom will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her children, Ken (Barb), Shoana (Tim), Kim (Richard); daughter-in-law Judy; grandchildren, Tristan (Penny, Wanda (Daryl), Shana, Tyler (Jodi), Leif (Brent), Rilla (Ryan), Josh (Trina). Mom was loved and adored by her great-grandchildren who called her Great Hutton . Numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews will also miss her. Mom was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Ross, stepmother Margaret, infant brother Joseph and infant sister Elizabeth and sister Mary Ross, husband Ken and son Bryan. Donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 20 at the Clandeboye United Church at 1:00 p.m., Clandeboye, MB with Rev. Judy Limpwright officiating. Interment of ashes at a later date. Gilbart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
