ELIZABETH KATE FARMER (COUTTS)
Date of Passing: Mar 16, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH KATE FARMER (COUTTS) It is with sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Thursday, March 16, 2006. Mom celebrated her 90th birthday in December of 2005 and was a resident of Middlechurch Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 1993. She leaves to honour her memory, two sons, Jim (Carolyn) and Terry (Diane); eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Betty was born, raised, was educated and lived in Winnipeg all her life. She was employed by Manitoba Government Employees Association (now MGEU) where a three week job turned into 19 years. She was a long time member of Riverview United Church (now Churchill Park United Church) where she was an active member of the UCW, participating in various projects there. The family would like to extend a thank you to the caregivers at Middlechurch Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a family interment at St. Vital Cemetery will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to a charity of your choice.

My dearest Gramma. I still think of you every chance I get. I often visit your eternal home to make sure it's clean as your home always was. Towards my later days of High School, I used to ride my bike to your home from Baylor to Montgomery everyday. It was a long ride just to watch the Young and the Restless, but it was so much more. I really never got the show as I really never paid attention. Just spending the time with you is all I wanted. Not having Papa around to share my time with was hard. But I knew you enjoyed having me there. You'd always feed me a sandwich, a glass of milk and a cookie before I biked home. That's what a grandmother does for her grandson. One day, I will do the same and remember and cherish those moments and share them with my grand children. I love you, I miss you and I will never forget you. P.S. Give Papa a big hug for me. I miss him dearly. Love you both. Christopher - Posted by: Christopher A. Catanzaro (Her first born Grandson) on: Nov 23, 2014
