My parents, like yours Birute, lived through very difficult times. I am thankful to have arrived in north end Winnipeg in ‘53 and have briefly known you. Ihor. - Posted by: Ihor Pona (Birutes’ friend at Aberdeen. ) on: Dec 17, 2024

My grandmother was so loving and kind. She was an amazing cook and she knew the tribulations we faced at home so everytime we visited she would try and make everything awesome, which she did. I miss her terribly and wish I could’ve said good bye. Love you Grandma Ona. I’ll see one day when I get to heaven, say hi to grandpa ♥️ - Posted by: Lauren Spink (Granddaughter ) on: Oct 14, 2021

My grandmother was everything a grandaughter could have ever wanted in life. She was kind, gentle, thoughtful, strong, the best cook, loving, and so much more. Every summer holiday as a child we drove from Saskatchewan to Winnipeg to visit our grandparents and for 12 hours I was so excited to see them. Rice krispee cakes wait for us on the table, we hug our grandparents with all the love in my heart, "mine girls", is what Grandpa called us while we styled his hair. Wheel of fortune and jeopardy every day on the clock, never missed. The afternoons grandma preparing snacks and supper with fresh vegetables picked by her in her dill smelling garden and grandpa in his garage building a birdhouse. So many perfect memories. I love you so much grandma and grandpa and I can't wait to hug you again. Love your girl, Leanne. You were the best a grandchild could ever want and I would not have changed a single memory. - Posted by: Leanne Spink (Grandaughter) on: May 15, 2015
