DOROTHY DONOHOE As quietly as she lived, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother slipped into the arms of her Lord on Friday, March 17, 2006 Mom leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 64 years, Denis; three sons, Desmond (Diane), Mickey and Pat (Lesley), all of Petersfield; one daughter Trudy Lee (Doug) of Waskada, MB.; nine granddaughters; four grandsons; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter Arlene; one daughter-in-law Janice; two grandsons, Desmond and David; two sisters, Margaret and Lottie and one brother Kurt. Always active, Mom served on the Church Board, the Hospital Ladies Aid, the Community Club, 4-H and the curling club, but the love of her life were her grandchildren. She was their champion, their protector and their secret keeper. A quiet and humble lady, Mom gave of herself to all those around her and held animals close to her heart. Being an avid gardener, she was well known for her cooking and canning, but is best remembered for her cookies and her kindness. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Petersfield on Tuesday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment will follow in the Churchyard cemetery. Pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Food Bank of your choice.
