SHIRLEY ANN OAKES 1929 - 2006 On March 18, Mom passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Ernest in 1999. She will be lovingly remembered by her children David (Diana), Valerie, Karen (Marc), Peggy (Gord); grandchildren Gregory, Sherri, Michael, and Gillian. Shirley was born and raised in Milton, ON, met her future husband, Ernie and was married in 1952, moving to Winnipeg in 1966. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed all moments spent with her family. Her passions were sewing, crafts, garage sales, antiquing, bridge, singing in the church choir and socializing with her many friends. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Bethania Personal Care Home who treated her with compassion and dignity throughout the five years that she lived there. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 400 Rouge Rd.
