CATHARINA PARISE (nee VAN NIEKERK) September 19, 1938 - March 19, 2006 An unselfish, strong, elegant, giving, beautiful woman who made us laugh and will be in our hearts forever. Peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2006 Cathy passed away at the age of 67 following a battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband Gilberto of 42 years; her son Roberto (Barb) and daughter Loredana (Paul). Cathy also leaves to mourn her sisters Nellie (Harry), Gerda (Don), Wilma (Don); brothers Gerry (Gidgi), Ted (Janice) and William (Irma) and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to friends who are family Leo and Tracey, Addie, Arlene and Freda. Mom was born in Wassenaar, Holland and came to Canada with her family in 1951. She was predeceased by her parents William and Gerda and sister Jackie. We will fondly remember Cathy's love for flowers, special family suppers, bells, hankies, dancing the Rumba and knitting scarves. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue and placed to rest at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Avenue.
