Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIAN ANDREW WEST JAMES It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ian James, 57 years, at the Health Sciences Centre on March 17, 2006. Ian passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness with his family by his side. Ian will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anne James; and children, Alison, Aaron and Daniel; and granddaughter Eden. He is survived by his parents, Arthur and Jean; brothers, Tony, Stuart and Brian (Karen); nieces, Alexandria and Hope; nephews, Andrew and Michael; great-nephews, Conor and Chase John Ian West James born March 16, 2006. He also had many other relatives and friends in both Australia and Great Britain. Ian is predeceased by his loving grand-parents Gertrude James and Andrew and Anne Miller. Ian was born in Aldershot, England in 1948 and lived as a youth in many countries as his father was an Officer in the British Army. He arrived with his family in Winnipeg in 1959 where he has lived ever since. He had a liver transplant on his 50th birthday in 1998 and eventually died from complications. He had a profound love of all living creatures great and small, with a special fondness for his dogs especially his dear Fexie Dog. Ian was a true poet in every sense, writing prolifically in his final year. Our thanks to the medical staff at the Health Sciences Centre and Liver Clinic in Winnipeg with special thanks to Dr. Renner and Dr. Minnk Vicki and Rose. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. If friends so desire, we most strongly encourage them to sign their organ donor cards for the gift of life. Please don't take your organs to Heaven, Heaven knows we need them here .
