Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH D. DONAHUE Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, Joseph, aged 84, passed away at Poseidon Care Centre. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his children, Thomas (Randi-Lee), Kathleen Glenwright (Tom), Mary, Diane Carlson (Jim), Joseph Jr. and Margaret; as well as grandchildren, Matthew, Brett, Thomas, Michael, Jennifer, Kendal, Kennedy, Adam, Kathryn, Bryce, McKenzie and Dane. Joseph was predeceased by Lucille in 2003, his wife of 54 years; eldest son Patrick in 2005; parents, Thomas and Nellie; brother John; and sisters, Theresa Kelly and Kaye Neville. Dad was born and raised in Eganville, ON. He served as a Flight Sergeant with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he commenced his long career as District Manager with Crawley McCracken. Joe and wife, Lucille, moved from Sudbury, ON to Winnipeg in 1958, where they raised their seven children. Joe loved to play golf and enjoyed watching professional hockey, football and golf on the television. He was blessed with a beautiful Irish tenor voice and loved to sing with the church choir or while Lucille accompanied him on the piano. His quick wit brought laughter to all who knew him. Dad was a member of St. Bernadette's Parish for 48 years. He was a member of the Knight's of Columbus and during his retirement years was very active administering communion to the ill, preparing food for the annual fall supper and participating in numerous fundraising events for the Knights of Columbus and the St. Bernadette's Men's Club. It gives the family great comfort to know that Dad has now joined his beloved wife and son in God's care. A celebration of Joseph's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25 in St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd., officiated by Fr. Fred Olds. A reception for friends and family will take place in the Parish Hall following the service.
